Bend Oregon

We have just spent 3 beautiful days with Rod's brother Mike, his wife Debie and their 3 teenagers Ty, Jarret and Elora...along with Jet and Bailey the family pets. The weather has be absolutely georgeous. Haven't seen a cloud in the sky or felt a drop of rain. It is dry and warm.
Yesterday we took a short drive to Todd Lake and hike around it for a
couple of hours. Is is onlyabout 1.5 miles around but surrounded by tall narrow evergreens. The only one brave enough to get in the water was Debie and that was only to her ankles.
There were more pollywogs then I ever remember seeing as a kid. One area, until you looked really close, was jet black, you could not see to the bottom of the lake. As you walked along the waters edge there were hundreds of frogs about the size of a medium cricket hopping into the water...kind of a creepy feeling if you think about it.

Elora turned 13 on the 12th so the evening was spent with several of Debie's family members sharing cake and ice cream with her. Among the many talents Elora has, she is also pretty good with American Sign Language.
