Oregon, Sept. 2008

In this leg of the trip : Portland, Or to Eugene to Bend.

Left Westford, MA 5 AM on Wednesday morning, arrived Portland 12:30 PM (local time).

Left for Eugene and met up with our friend Shirley and her friends Mike & Anne at their Alpaca Farm. It was a full on farm indeed ! Very large 2 story barn, smaller tack barn another office/ guest house they use as an office. All that and their awesome home said to be built in the early 1900's.

Alpaca's at Mike and Anne's Farm in Eugene, OR. Beautiful animals with a variety of colors and textured furs. Must have been at least 20 Alpaca's.

Covered bridge, named Good Pasture Bridge, just outside of Eugene on the way to Bend, OR to see Mike, Deb and family.

Stopped at pull out along McKinsey Pass before reaching top where lava fields and snow covered mountian tops can be seen. Below are the Sisters Mountain tops.

At Top of Observation Tower with surrounding mountain peaks.
Also, looking down at lava field and pathway up to top of observation tower.

Wow! Looks like you have beautiful weather. We are so glad. We have seen an ad about Alpaca's on TV. I'm guessing they use them for the fur. What do you know about them?

Weather is great here today. Winds have died down and the sun is shinning. It is a bit warm though.

Keep having a great time, love the pictures.

Love always, Mom and Dad
