Eltham Palace and Southend-on-Sea

Eltham Palace is located in...you guessed it, Eltham, England. Built in the 1930's it was pretty modern residence. Beautiful gardens and ponds surround the outside of the palace. Kenui was off work today so he was able to do the driving. We'll add pictures after the battery charges.

We enjoyed a picnic on the grounds of the palace before leaving for Southend-0n-Sea.

Southend is home to the longest walking pier, over 1.3 miles and even has a small train running on it. We walked to the end, flew some kites and had a spot of tea. The train ride back was a little rickety but fun to do.

By the time we got back to the beach, the tide had gone out and left a couple boats stranded. The kids played in the tide pools, continued flying kites and enjoyed some ice cream. It was a beautiful day to relax on the beach and just taking a break. After all, this is a vacation.

I'll fill in more details after I get the pictures loaded. We are spending few hours at home and we try to use some of it to get some sleep before starting the next day.
