International Permit

Okay...so why is it that no matter how much time you spend on your hair, makeup and cloths when you get the photo for your permit or any other license it looks like you've been sick for weeks and just walked out of a wind tunnel. When I got my license in MA, it was horrible, Heidi insisted on seeing it...her only comment was, "Well at least you've lost weight since then". The picture was only about 2 hours old! Yikes! Anyway, for just $15 and a passport photo I was able to get a permit that will last for one year, giving me the right-away to drive on the wrong side of the road in certain countries. Now think about it...I've been driving on the right side of the road for what...33 years and now, without any test or instruction, I get to drive on the wrong side of the road at least in England and Ireland. Interesting. Also, gone are the days where you need to go to the post office and fill out a form in duplicate to have your mail held until your return from your trip. Now, all you need to do is go online, fill in about 5 boxes and tada! You're good to go. Your mail will be held for x amount of days and then delivered on your return. Of course, if what is being held will not fit in your box, then it will be returned to the post office for you to pick up within 3 days of your return. Not bad I guess. Still haven't started packing. No clue what to bring. An umbrella for sure...temps are not much above the 70' s but they could get into the 80's...maybe...hopefully!
